Do you love camping snacks?

One of the best parts about camping is eating outdoors and, of course, the camping snacks.

For some reason, they just taste better.

When I think of camping snacks, I think of packing up some things you don’t get everyday. We’re talking Pop Tarts, crackers, chips, cereal, and of course the s’mores.

Loading up on some junk food at the store is one way to go, but these camping snacks and treats have me rethinking that. Plus, plenty of them are delicious and healthy – what a concept!

I have to admit the snacks on this list might even lead to a better camping experience. You’ll have more energy for all the fun!

Now, I also didn’t say all the recipes on this list are healthy ones. You’ll find your share of indulgent treats too.

It’s all about balance.

Must-Haves for Camping Snacks

Before we get to these delicious snacks, let’s talk about some smart ways to bring those snacks camping.

A well-prepared camping trip is a successful camping trip. These things will have you feeling ready to make all the camping snacks!

Cooking at the Campsite

There are some very smart things out there for campsite cooking. The right campfire cooking equipment is so helpful!

I’m thinking the old classics from my childhood camping trips…

We’re talking the classic camp cooker for campfire pies and hot sandwiches, the popcorn you pop right over the fire, and – of course – the roasting sticks for hotdogs and marshmallows…

Here are some more must-haves!

Folding Campfire Grill. This is so handy! This little folding campfire grill starts compact and then unfolds to give you a skilled and grill right over the campfire.

Camp Kitchen Cooking Set. This 11-piece utensil set comes with all you need for cooking at the campsite. It comes in a great, compact carrying case and even includes a cutting board, scissors, and two jars for spices – so cute! I also like this 24 piece set that also includes your eating utensils.

Dutch Oven. If you want to look like a real campfire cooking pro, a cast iron dutch oven is the way to go. You can even get a stand to hang it over the fire and feel like you’re on a cattle drive in the old west.

Outdoor Firepit with Grill. We typically camp where we have to bring our own firepit and we absolutely love how this firepit comes with a grill attachment. It’s so easy to place your food right over the fire and adjust the grill height.

Folding Table. We always have a small table for prepping food. In fact, it doesn’t hurt to have two. We love this small Coleman folding table and even use it on the boat. For something a little larger, you can’t beat this table with the storage compartment underneath.

Containers

What about getting those snacks to the campsite?

I’m low-key obsessed with containers and there are some great ones for your camping snacks and treats!

Foil Sheets. Ok, so not as much a container as just one of our must-haves. We use these foil sheets all the time. They are so incredibly easy to grab when those camping snacks have your hands messy.

Paper Trays. We had a very fun carnival themed wedding show (with a pop up camper midway!) and these paper trays fit the look. However, we had no idea we’d continue to use them for years! They sack even better than bowls and are perfect or camp snacks or serving meals.

Portable Water Container. A portable water container comes in handy in so many ways. Whether you use it for drinking, cooking, or washing – you’ll be glad you have one!

Collapsible Containers. Collapsible contains are perfect for saving space! Whether you’re bringing your camping snacks from home or preparing them at the campsite, these collapsible bowls and square containers will be great to have.

Silicone Storage Bags. Another great way to save space is using bags, and it’s such a bonus to eliminate camp trash. Silicone storage bags are reusable and help save space by storing food flat and without extra air.

With all of these, you’ll be ready to have the best camping snacks around! Be prepared to be the envy of the campground!
